A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $15 ,000.00 RECOGNIZING
REVENUE RECEIVED FROM WAL-MART
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section I: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas hereby approves a budget adjustment, a copy of
which is attached to this Resolution , in the amount of$ I 5 ,000.00 recognizing revenue received from Wal-Mart and
increas ing the related expense budget.

SUBJECT: Approval of a budget adjustment in the amount of $15,000 to recognize Revenue
received from Wal-Mart and increase related expense budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of a budget adjustment in the amount of $15,000 to recognize Revenue received from Wal-Mart and
increase related expense budget.
BACKGROUND:
The Fayetteville Fire Department assists each year at the Wal-Mart Shareholder’s Meetings by providing Fire
Department personnel and equipment at various venues to increase our presence and help response times
due to the large influx of people. These personnel are on-scene ready to respond as needs arise through the
Shareholder’s Week. There was reimbursement for personnel expenses as well as funds for the purchase of
new equipment. This budget adjustment is moving the equipment funding from miscellaneous income to minor
equipment.
DISCUSSION:
The Fayetteville Fire Department has received the reimbursement Revenue from Wal-Mart. The Fire
Department would like to utilize a portion of this revenue to allow for the purchase of Electric Bikes for better
response on the city’s trail system. This equipment will aid our firefighters in actively reaching citizens who
need immediate emergency care. By having the equipment capability to traverse these steep, lengthy trails in
our parks, we can arrive in a safer, timelier manner with the patient to rapidly administer emergency care.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Utilize revenue to purchase Electric Bikes for Responses
