Dear Council Members,
24 years ago I invited Julia Hill Bu?erfly to speak at the U of A Union.
I talked Mary Lightheart into going up in a Post Oak for three weeks. That Tree-Sit changed the trajectory of NWA. We are
now 80 years old or close…and while Mary would gladly go up in a tree again, it’s not safe! Ha!
I am so comforted that our great city has A Climate Ac?on Plan and of course it would be logical that our Council would
recognize the value of old growth mature trees to mi?gate the effects of the Global Climate Crisis.
Please, No Vaca?ng Easements.
Nothing planted today in our current environment will ever achieve the majes?c benefits to the environment, our health
and well being as those mature Post Oaks!
Definitely make other plans to sa?sfy the high school needs. Make a way!
