I request that the conditional use permit for 10 S Palmer be denied.
Our University Heights neighborhood is mostly single-family residences. Some are
rented. But the proposed dormitory type of use for 10 S Plamer is inappropriate for
many reasons. This use should not be approved as it will lead to more encroachment
of our RSF-4 use. Some of the same reasons that a short-term rental CUP was denied
for the same property also apply to the current request.
The applicant has obtained many positive comments about the non-profit organization
that will be the owner/renter of the property. It is not a question about the mission or
quality of the non-profit. The issue is the intended use in a single-family neighborhood.
The INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NORTHWEST
ARKANSAS has been statutorily dissolved by the Secretary of State of Arkansas. If
they cannot keep their authority to exist and do business up to date, how can we trust
that the organization will keep all the promises that are being made about how it would
operate the dormitory operation?
