Dear Fayetteville City Council, Tonight, our esteemed councilfolk will consider RZN-2024-0017 for the property located at 512 N. Mission Blvd, agenda item C6. As a Ward 1 resident, I oppose this rezoning and ask that you vote against it. This property is currently zoned RSF-4 to provide housing for Fayetteville residents. This beautiful home has five bedrooms, mature trees, and large lawn areas providing the perfect spot for recreation and family gatherings. Its infill score reflects the benefits this location provides. This home is within walking distance of Washington Elementary, Ozark Natural Foods, St. Joseph Park, and our paved trail system. The University of Arkansas, downtown Fayetteville, Mt. Sequoyah, Wilson Park, and the Entertainment and Arts District are also in close proximity for residents to enjoy. Recently, the City of Fayetteville declared a housing crisis. Simply put, rezoning this historical home will take away a housing opportunity for our residents. While there is an alarming dearth of available housing in our community, there is an abundance of available commercial and business spaces. Rezoning will add potential traffic, as noted by a neighbor during the Planning Commission Meeting, and an unsightly abundance of parked vehicles will detract from the neighborhood charm. Further, the recent lot split indicates likely future infill, creating even more traffic and congestion for this historic area. Please vote no on this rezone to keep this property a home for Fayetteville residents instead of an office building. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, emily ervin 1 Sent from my iPhone 2
