AGENDA SESSION –August 10, 2023, 5:00 PM
I. Call to Order The Fayetteville Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Regular Session was called
to order on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 5pm via Zoom
II. Roll Call All commissioners were present, along with Executive Director Sherburne. Also present
were members of the public and FHA staff.
III. Approval of the Agenda The Agenda was unanimously approved as presented for the regular
session.
IV. Action Item: Motion to transition to in-person board meetings
A. Board Chair Terry had reached out to the Fayetteville City Clerk who noted that the meeting
rooms are booked on the nights of Board meetings.
B. Executive Director Sherburne explained the options with hybrid meetings more possible at the
rooms provided by the City of Fayetteville compared to a space at the Housing Authority.
Another option was to have webcams available for residents to check out and use with the
publicly available computer lab on site. If the meetings remain Zoom only, there is the option to
have the meeting shown on the television in the public lobby.
C. Resident Commissioner Humphreys felt that in-person was no longer tenable and wanted
Executive Director Sherburne to go forward with making webcams available to the residents.
Board Chair Terry agreed with Commissioner Humphrys and stated that she wants to attend
more public resident-facing events.
D. Resident Commissioner Humphrys motioned to proceed with Zoom-only meetings with FHA staff
making the computer lab accessible for residents who wish to participate. The motion was
seconded and passed unanimously.
V. Final Comments & Announcements
There will be a special session & agenda session for September on August 31st to interview
candidates for the current Board vacancy.
VI. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 5:16 pm
