HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-10-26 - Minutes -Meeting Minutes BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGULAR SESSION – OCTOBER 26, 2023, 5:00 PM I. Call to Order The Fayetteville Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Regular Session was called to order on Thursday, October 26 2023 at 5pm via Zoom II. Roll Call Commissioners Terry, Woods, Humphry, and Moore were present, forming quorum. Also present were Executive Director Sherburne, members of the public, and FHA Staff. Commissioner Cole was not present at roll call. III. Approval of the Agenda Unanimously approved. IV. Consent Agenda Unanimously approved. V. Reports A. FHA Chair Report - Board Chair Terry reported that the street closure along South Willow has been vacated by the City of Fayetteville, and FHA Development is set to close on the sale of the 12th Street apartments on November 6th. B. Staff Reports – Executive Director Sherburne reviewed the number of units, active & new leases, and vacant units for all Public Housing & Project-based Rental Assistance properties for the month. He also reported on the current status of the Housing Choice Voucher programs. He defined VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing), VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), HAP (Housing Assistance Payment), and COC (Continuum of Care). There was discussion as to the role of the CoC in the Voucher program and how the By-name list is collected and viewed. He gave an overview of FHA financials – end of September standings for accounts and CDs. General operational updates include the Hillcrest Towers entry access, budget process, and the 2021 audit wrap-up. C. Hillcrest Resident Council – Resident Commissioner Humphry attended the Resident Council meeting and they stated that they would like to be removed from the agenda. VI. New Business A. Discussion: November Regular Session & Resident Commissioner interviews Meeting Minutes BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGULAR SESSION – OCTOBER 26, 2023, 5:00 PM Executive Director Sherburne opened discussion regarding moving the meeting to the week after Thanksgiving as well as considering timing for Resident Commissioner interviews. Resident Commissioner Humphry’s term is expiring, and applications will open through the City of Fayetteville. He proposed moving the meeting scheduled on November 23rd to November 30th. There was discussion as to timeline of the applications and interviews. The board members agreed to move the November monthly meeting to the 30th and to include the interviews. VII.
