Fleet has began the process of implementing light duty rolling stock EV replacements. The unit will be loaned out to divisions to use and demo for
future EV replacement and staff familiarization. It will have 3 uses within Fleet, a shop admin vehicle, used by light duty automotive personnal for
service calls and transportation of employees and equiupment to vendors.
In mid February 2024, Water Sewer unit 1285 was involved in a single car accident resulting in it being totaled by insurance. The Water Sewer
department is requesting an upgraded unit in its place. Fleet Policy states upgrades are to be paid by the department requesting them. To offset the
additional purchase price, we will combine the budgeted amount ($33,000), insurance ($8,325.00) and BA the difference ($4,500) which includes
additional upfit parts and accessories from Water Sewer at City Council.
Unit 1282 began to have oil consumption issues. There were bulletins in our online repair software indicating this problem relating to this specific
engine. Oil consumption issues led to valvetrain damage. Fleet does not recommend moving forward with repairs. Fleet recommends vehicle
replacement.
Trailer 9189 has currently is in need of extensive repairs necessitating its replacement. A new unit will be purchased from a local dealer.
This non‐motor pool trailer is no longer capable of front line service for the Parks Department. Parks will be purchasing a replacement trailer more
capable of front line service and with greater weight capacity.
Historically the Transportation Department keeps spare mowers on hand in case front line units go in for repairs and maintenance. Transportation
will be getting rid of a older spare unit in favor of purchasing unit 5094 off the surplus line. This is a newer unit and more reliable than 5076u.
