A motion to approve the November 9th, 2023 was made by David Hopper. Zane Chenault seconded the motion. The motion carried. Topics for Future Meetings: 1. Discussion of Airport Board members talent, connections, and roles 2. Having author who knows history of Drake come visit 3. Zane Chenault will set up cemetery tour 4. Master Plan Update 5. Ground lease for box hangars discussion 6. David Hinton- U of A update ITEM # 2: Receiving of Reports : • FUEL FARM REHABILITATION PROJECT: The contractor is currently sourcing materials and will update us soon with an anticipated start date. • AIRPORT MASTER PLAN UPDATE: Research and auditing is ongoing, there have been no changes at this time. • WILDLIFE FENCE REHABILITATION: This project is now complete except for grounding rods which are currently backordered. • TAXIWAY ECHO EXTENSION: The Environmental Assessment is currently ongoing. MUSEUM REPORT: Laci Prince introduced Gus Kuklinski as the Museum Board President. Gus was awarded the volunteer of the year award for volunteering over 800 hours to the museum last year. In 2023, the museum had a record year. 14,000 guests, 41 fly-ins, and 1,200 kids from Northwest Arkansas visited the museum. The santa drop brought 973 people to the museum this year. The museum had a reported a $62,000 profit for 2023. (Mostly specific grants that were received) The annual Valentines dance will be held on February 17th. There will be three camps hosted at the museum this year and are all fully booked. PAGE 2 OF 2 June 28th, 2024 is the 80th birthday of the Museum/Airfield and the museum will be hosting a Piper/Cub fly-in. Laci is trying to get Doc or the Liberty Bells booked for the celebration. May 4th will be the car show. There were 70 cars in 2023 and already have 150 cars booked for 2024 so far. John Leeman is 3D printing all of the museum planes as an interactive way for the blind to use the museum. ITEM #4: New Business: • None. ITEM # 5: Old Business: • None.
