Urban Forestry Advisory Board Meeting
January 3, 2023

Members: Coy Morris, Tas Zinck, Bethany Douglas, Carlo Bertani
City Staff: John Scott, Urban Forester; Melissa Evans, Urban Forester
1. Call to Order:
a. Roll Call
2. Approval of Meeting Minutes – Minutes are Video Archived- The committee approved the previous
month's meeting motions.
a. A motion was made to approve the Urban Forestry Master Plan by Carlo Bertani and
second by Bethany Douglas
b. The Next Step will be to present a synopsis to the planning commission.
c. The Next Step will be to present and ask for approval from the City Council.
3. Development Projects – Melissa
4. Officer Election- We must elect a Chair and a Co-Chair. The chair runs the meetings, reviews, and
makes suggestions on the agenda. The co-chair does this if the chair is absent. This is a small
group and a great time/opportunity to learn how to run a meeting like this if you are interested.
5. Code Changes – Follow Up
a. To Hit minimums – Nothing from the staff.
b. Remove the 10000 sf rules – Nothing from staff.
c. Construction fines - Nothing from staff
6. 2023 Tree Project- Fall Projects –
a. Vantage Drive – 21 trees planted
b. Clarence Craft Park- 93 trees planted
c. Rodney Ryan Park new block – 20 trees planted
d. Rodney Ryan Re Savanna – 56 Planted
e. Owl Creek – 75 trees planted
f. Clabber Creek- Plans complete – 31 trees planted
g. Bayari Park- 79 trees Planted
h. Harmony Point Park- 53 trees planted
i. Lake Fayetteville- 100 trees planted
j. Persimmon Blvd- 81 trees planted
7. 2024 Projects- Spring
a. Disc Golf Course – Plans are in the works
b. Amazing Tree –
c. Donation Trees, I have five due now and ten that will be due asap.
