Justification: Proximity to existing parks and land adjacent to Markham
Hill park land must become tree preservation.
PRAB Recommendation: Brink moves to approve, Davis to second. Motion: 7-0-0.
5. Active Transportation Advisory Committee Update: Yarri Davis — OAR recommends
that City form a committee that is focused on transit and paratransit. Soft surface trail
addition was discussed.
6. Botanical Garden Society of the Ozarks Update: Joel Freund — Reported on
successful October events "Scarecrow Showdown" and the election of new director,
Ashley Wardlow.
7. Friend of Parks Subcommittee Report: Steve Sheely — Sheely presented research
based on Parks' weekly activity schedule to determine who is using the Parks system and
how to build Park Partners based on regular users. Sheely reported by-laws were
approved, a checking account for operating expenses has been established, and that
officers have elected.
8. Arts Council: Downing to represent Parks at Arts Council meetings henceforth.
9. Land Acquisition Committee Report: Will Dockery — Dockery to recommend funds
from fees in lieu to be used to look at acquiring more useable park land.
