Meeting of the Black Heritage Preservation Commission
September 21, 2023 6:30 PM

NOTE: The September 21, 2023 Black Heritage Preservation Commission meeting was
held virtually and in person, with commissioners attending remotely or in person. Staff
were present in person.
Members: Council Member D'Andre Jones, Chair J.L. Jennings, Vice Chair Lois Bryant, Kaleb
Turner, and Shawn Walker
City Staff: Britin Bostick - Long Range Planning & Special Projects Manager
In Attendance: Council Member D'Andre Jones, Vice Chair Lois Bryant, Wendell Huggins,
Shawn Walker, and Britin Bostick
The meeting was not called to order and no action taken as a quorum of
commissioners was not present. The Commissioners present did receive information
from Sonia Harvey about the current status of the Council Resolution for Identifying
and Recognizing Fayetteville's Historic Black Neighborhoods and from Sandy Shannon
with Stantec Consulting Services about the University Heights and Haskell Heights
historic context statement. The September agenda items will be moved to the October
meeting.
