* Public comment at a Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force Control Board
meeting shall be allowed for all members of the audience who have signed up
prior to the beginning of the agenda item they wish to address. Speakers shall
be limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes. The Fourth Judicial District Drug
Task Force Control Board may allow a speaker additional time or may allow an
unsigned -up person to speak by unanimous consent or majority vote.

MEETING
August 16, 2023
MINUTES
A meeting of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force Control Board was held on August 16, 2023.
Those present were:
Mike Reynolds, Chief- Fayetteville Police Department
Jay Cantrell, Sheriff- Washington County Sheriff's Office
Frank Gamble, Chief- Springdale Police Department
Chris Workman, Chief- Prairie Grove Police Department
Willie Newman, Fiscal Director- Fayetteville Police Department
Jacob Lawson, Sergeant- Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force
Greg Tabor, Chief Deputy- Washington County Sheriffs Office
Jeff Taylor, Captain -Springdale Police Department
Brad Renfro, Captain -Fayetteville Police Department
Tim Franklin, Lieutenant- Fayetteville Police Department

Guest: Members of the public and media.
Chief Mike Reynolds called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the above -listed members were
acknowledged as present. Copies of the minutes from July 19, 2023, meeting were distributed to all present.
A motion was made by Chief Jay Cantrell and seconded by Chief Frank Gamble to approve the minutes. The
motion was approved unanimously.
Fiscal Director Willie Newman will have a copy of the financial report Grant FY2022-2023 for July available to
review at the August meeting.
Sergeant Jacob Lawson reported on the task force's activity from July 1, 2023, through July 31, 2023, and he
distributed a copy of statistics to all present. Lawson stated that in July the task force opened 30 cases, closed
19 cases, and made 12 arrests. Lawson further noted that $5,690.00 was expended for the purchase of
evidence and $1,640.00 for the purchase of information. Lawson stated that drugs seized during the month
included: methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA, fentanyl, and pharmaceuticals.
Lawson stated that 2 warrants were served. Also noted, were 4 drug convictions for July. The task force seized
$800.00 U.S. currency during the month. The locations of DTF Enforcement Action for the month were
Fayetteville 15 cases, Springdale 7 cases, Farmington 1 case, West Fork 3 cases, Prairie Grove 3 cases, and
Elkins 1 case.
OTHER BUSINESS
No other business brought before the board.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Gracie Fuhrman:
• Do the efforts of the Drug Task Force change with the beginning of a college school year? Are there
any procedures or processes that the task force follows? Are there any patterns that the task force
sees?
Sarah Moore:
• She like to see forfeiture money be used towards funding treatment centers. What are the
procedures when deciding what organization will receive those funds?
Chief Mike Reynolds requested a date and time for the next meeting. The next meeting will be on September
13, 2023, at 1:30 P.M., Fayetteville Police Department, 1800 North Stephen Carr Memorial Blvd., Fayetteville,
Arkansas. The meeting was adjourned.
