To participate, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1) The garden must be within the Fayetteville city limits.
2) Complete and submit this application.
3) Host a brief scheduled tour of your garden for judges.
4) Answer questions about garden management techniques.
5) If deemed a winner, allow the Urban Forestry Advisory Board and any interested public to tour your garden on a date and time to be decided.
Winners will be selected using the following criteria:
1) Design and aesthetics
2) Environmental best management practices
3) Use of unique or recycled materials (example: pots, trellis material, cage material and edging
made of unique or recycled materials)
4) For Residential Gardens Only: Unique selection of vegetables, fruits, herbs or spices.
5) Plant health
6) Water conservation methods
7) Composting
8) Responsible pest control
9) Use of beneficial birds or insects (example: bee hives, hummingbird feeders, etc.)
