Those present were: Brad Renfro, Captain- Fayetteville Police Department Jay Cantrell, Chief Deputy- Washington County Sheriff's Office Frank Gamble, Chief -Springdale Police Department Chris Workman, Chief- Prairie Grove Police Department Tim Franklin, Lieutenant- Fayetteville Police Department Willie Newman, Fiscal Director- Fayetteville Police Department Cara Murdoch, Administrative Assistant- 4th Judicial Drug Task Force Derek Hudson, Assistant Chief- Fayetteville Police Department Lester Coger, Lieutenant- Springdale Police Department Matt Durrett- Washington County Prosecuting Attorney Guest: Members of the public. Captain Brad Renfro called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the above -listed members were acknowledged as present. Copies of the minutes from the June 15, 2022 meeting were distributed to all present. A motion was made by Jay Cantrell, and seconded by Frank Gamble, to approve the minutes. The motion was approved unanimously. A copy of the financial report for the Grant FY2021-2022 was distributed to all present for review, the period ending June 30, 2022. Financial Director, Willie Newman, stated the total expense to date was $535,570.00 which included Federal Jag-21$91,319.00, State JAG-21 $43,597.00, State Drug Crime Fund $91,319.00, Local Drug Crime Fund $18,264.00, Local JAG-21$18,264.00, and Non -Allowed- $272,807.00. Lieutenant Tim Franklin reported on the task force's activity from June 1, 2022, through June 30, 2022, and distributed a copy of statistics to all present. Franklin stated that in June the task force opened 27 cases, closed 60 cases, and made 13 arrests. Franklin further noted that $2,055.00 was expended for the purchase of evidence, and $220.00 for the purchase of information. Franklin stated that drugs seized during the month included: methamphetamine, marijuana, fentanyl, and pharmaceuticals. Franklin stated that 6 warrants were served. Also noted, were 7 drug convictions for June. The task force seized a total of $9,903.02 in U.S. currency during the month. The locations of DTF Enforcement Action for the month were Fayetteville 18 cases, Springdale 6 cases, Farmington 1 case, Goshen 1 case, and Elm Springs 1 case. OTHER BUSINESS No other business was presented before the Control Board. PUBLIC COMMENT Sarah Moore: • Asked which judges signed for the search warrants listed on the task force report. How can a person attain that information? • Would like to discuss the focus of the task force, particularly the area of drug trafficking and sex trafficking. • Would like the opportunity to discuss the upcoming budget and the role the drug task force plays with other community investments, such as anti -violence programs. Scott Mashburn: • Asked that acronyms not be used during the meetings, can be confusing to those who are not law enforcement. For example, DTO (Drug Trafficking Organization). Beth Moore: • Fayetteville has a high number of cases this month. The question was asked if this was abnormally high. • How many task force cases have gone federal this year?
