Bird Banding Project at Lake Fayetteville Environmental Study Center: Byron Humphry, Park Maintenance Superintendent. Jennifer Mortensen, PhD Teaching Assistant Professor Department of Biological Sciences will give overview of project. Mortensen discussed the following: • Capture birds in a net • Collect data from bird and the bird is released • Birds are banded and recaptured and additional data is calculated • Fall Migration for Arkansas is Sept — Mid -Oct and Spring Migration is April — Mid -May • Would like to utilize Lake Fayetteville for this project • Would like to begin at the beginning of October PRAB Motion: Dockery moved to approve the Bird Banding Project. Strategic Master Plan & Construction Update: Ted Jack, Planning Superintendent Jack discussed the following: • Timeline has been adjusted • Nearing completion of Benchmarking • Several outreach efforts in August • Surveys will close on September 17tn • Public Zoom Meeting in November, after all the information has been collected Park Project Updates o Kessler Mountain — work continues and should be completed next summer o Centennial Park Pavilion — framework in place o Restroom Renovations — completed at Gulley, Lake Fayetteville Ballfields, Finger Park, Lewis and work at Walker Park almost complete o Wilson Park — Restroom and Pavilion going out to bid within the month 12.
